Job Summary
Perform blood collection procedures and venipuncture, verify order requests and patient identifying information prior to drawing blood, label specimens, and deliver them to the appropriate processing area. Conduct specimen processing and related tasks (accessioning, centrifugation, packaging), pick up and deliver blood and other lab supplies, and float to multiple locations. Provide patient-focused care and maintain log sheets to support the Medical Laboratory Team as a PRN Phlebotomy Technician at the Cleveland Clinic Health System.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical proficiency with standard procedures in phlebotomy
- Formal phlebotomy certification (preferred)
- Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy program with clinical rotation/externship (preferred)
