Job Summary

Lead phlebotomy collection staff during blood drives and branches, assigning meal/break periods and ensuring adherence to FDA, AABB, and internal policies. Perform phlebotomy and collection procedures, obtain donor medical history and vitals, and complete shift documentation by reviewing all records for accuracy. Drive bloodmobiles and collection vehicles to sites when assigned, while assisting in donor recruitment and monitoring deferrals to identify training needs. Maintain operational equipment and supplies, delivering excellent customer service and communicating concerns to recruitment staff. Requires high school diploma, six months experience, CDL for mobile work, CPR certification, and ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • six months of related experience
  • CPR Certification
  • Ability to read, understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to commute with personal transportation
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, as dictated by business needs, including weekend, holidays and overtime when necessary
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, stand for extended periods of time, and have manual dexterity in the operating of phlebotomy equipment
  • Ability to drive a large vehicle
  • If assigned to work on mobiles, successfully passing, CDL pre-qualifications, training and obtaining a CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
