Job Summary

Coordinate daily support operations for the Lab Associate group with direct supervision, serving as a functional supervisor while performing all job tasks and patient testing as a Lab Associate. Lead department workflow to ensure high quality, implement operational procedures, and monitor staff understanding of current guidelines. Act as a point of contact for patient and clinician inquiries, monitor data flow, and manage supply inventory. Direct and monitor work for the small team, orienting and training staff while evaluating performance. Maintain assigned areas to health standards and protect patient confidentiality by strictly following HIPAA and privacy policies.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of experience performing the duties of a Lab Associate
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts as needed depending on business need
  • Will be required to be on-call once per month
  • Schedule: FT, 40 hours. Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals
  • Sound judgement with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Accesses only the minimum necessary protected health information (PHI) for the performance of job duties
  • Actively protects the confidentiality and privacy of all protected health information they access in all its forms
  • Complies with all Atrius Health and departmental privacy policies, procedures and protocols
  • Follows HIPAA privacy guidelines without deviation when handling protected health information
  • UnitedHealth Group is a drug - free workplace. Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment

Desired Qualifications

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) experience
  • Advanced level of knowledge of Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and certification for CPR
