Job Summary
Phlebotomist Specimen Processor (Evening Shift) at Ochsner Health performing phlebotomy procedures, processing and receiving specimens, accessing and distributing specimens, and executing specified test procedures. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with preferred phlebotomy coursework; duties include data entry, proficiency with Windows applications, effective verbal and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff. Must adapt to patient populations, maintain privacy, and support laboratory operations with flexibility in schedule and location within the facility. Must be able to travel between facilities and work a flexible evening shift as part of an on-site laboratory team.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred - Completion of phlebotomy course
- Certifications Preferred - Current license or trainee license in the state of practice
- Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of venipuncture procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to adapt communication to patient population
- Able to travel between facilities if required
- Flexible work schedule
