Phlebotomist (SEIU) - Temporary - Casual - Markham, ON

Phlebotomist responsible for the specimen collection process from patient greeting to preparation of specimens for transport. Duties include performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, and performing ECG tracings; handling special test collections (e.g., medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and completing related documentation; maintaining client relationships and responding to inquiries; completing data entry of patient demographics and requisition information; preparing specimens for transportation and testing. Must have a vehicle to travel between Markham, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Whitby, Scarborough, North York, Toronto, and Etobicoke. Preferred graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent; phlebotomy experience is an asset. Strong communication, computer skills with 40 wpm, patient-service orientation, and ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality are expected.
