Phlebotomist Scheduler/Dispatcher

Job Summary
Monitor daily activities and collection schedules for mobile phlebotomy services while answering incoming telephone requests for home phlebotomy, house calls, and long-term care facilities. Schedule mobile phlebotomy staff accordingly and perform venipunctures to collect clinical laboratory specimens. Clarify orders, explain proper collection procedures, and assess specimen suitability according to department Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration, scheduling, dispatch, and tracking software, and properly document expense reimbursement data. Provide on-call and mobile service as required, assist in the orientation of new staff, and participate in continuous service improvement programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Valid driver's license from the state that the employee resides
- Clean driving record
- Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities
- Knowledge of Word Processing software
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently
- CPR Certification
