Job Summary
Collects blood and other patient specimens while maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere for patients. Abides by all lab policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with HIPAA. Achieves competence in venipuncture and swab collection for patients of all ages. Performs check-in procedures, monitors department inventory, and delivers specimens to the main lab with an emphasis on specimen integrity. This position requires standing and manual dexterity and the ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience on the job training
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of in-house or national certification
- Demonstrated capacity to perform 4 venipunctures per hour
- No disciplinary action received in past 90 days
