Job Summary
Collect blood donations safely from volunteer donors using all computer systems to process screening and whole blood phlebotomy. Set up supplies and equipment, complete daily QC, and ensure all resources are available before collection events. Provide exceptional donor experiences while taking personal responsibility for donor safety and complying with Blood Center standard procedures and regulatory standards. This role reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager. The first month of training occurs onsite at the blood center in Bethlehem, PA. Staff work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call rotations to cover weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate (verbal, written, and listening) fluently in English
- Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred
- 6 months' experience in a Blood Center or other Healthcare environment is strongly preferred
- 1 years' experience in customer service is strongly preferred
