Job Summary
Phlebotomist is responsible for preparing equipment to efficiently collect blood products, performing venipuncture and arterial/capillary punctures, labeling specimens, conducting laboratory tests, and entering data. The role includes donor assistance before/during/after donation, instruction on urine collection procedures, sterilizing equipment and workspace, inventorying supplies and placing orders, maintaining patient confidentiality, and demonstrating competencies relevant to the position. Requires phlebotomy certification and relevant healthcare experience, with ability to work across outpatient and inpatient settings and adhere to safety and infection-control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Minimum of one year work experience, preferably in health care
- Phlebotomy experience helpful
