Job Summary
Performs technically expert phlebotomy to collect blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis, provides point-of-care testing, collects various non-blood specimens, and handles check-in responsibilities; greets patients, verifies requests, prepares samples and labels, ensures specimen integrity, and maintains supplies while documenting accurately and following QA for equipment and processes; requires a high school diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy certification or CMA experience, with preference for broader phlebotomy experience and EMR familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution or CMA certification
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification
