Job Summary
Collect and process patient specimens by performing venous and capillary collections on patients of all ages using proper identification techniques. Provide staff support at outpatient collection locations and handle order entry, specimen processing, EKGs, culture collections, and Chain-of-Custody drug collections as needed. Gather samples for nursing home and health screening community events while maintaining required competency and education. Perform customer service, clerical tasks, and other duties assigned. A high school diploma and preferred National Phlebotomy Certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a certification eligible phlebotomy program or employer sponsored training program National Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- National phlebotomy certification preferred
- Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred
