Job Summary
Perform blood draws and other lab-related procedures on patients while verifying identities and maintaining accurate records. Educate patients on the collection process, specimen handling, and storage, then accurately label and package specimens for transport. Communicate effectively with lab staff, management, and other healthcare professionals while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and lab policies. Engage in ongoing training and development related to phlebotomy, lab procedures, and safety protocols. This part-time role in Ottawa, IL, includes Wed 8:30am to 5:30pm and Friday 1pm to 5:30pm shifts for 12 weekly hours at $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, with mileage reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy: 1 year
- Valid driver's license
- reliable transportation
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Flexibility to work independently
