Phlebotomist

Collect blood from adult, pediatric, and infant patients using appropriate equipment while assessing the physical condition of the collection site and patient. Verify orders, calculate specimen quantities, label samples per policy, and deliver specimens to the laboratory. Interpret and communicate problems to supervision, instruct patients on specimen collection, and restock lab supplies. Maintain phlebotomy supply levels and follow standard precautions including aseptic techniques and protective gear. Assess blood work requirements for elective pre-op patients and process specimens to the proper lab area. Requires current Phlebotomy Technician Certification, 0-5 years of technical experience, and inpatient experience preferred.
