Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist needed to collect and process patient specimens under minimal supervision in a oncology-focused practice with multiple Capital Region locations. Responsibilities include proper patient identification, blood draws, specimen labeling, processing and routing to laboratories, maintaining collection areas and equipment, handling documentation and records, performing waived lab tests under CLIA guidance, ensuring adequate supply inventory, and adhering to quality assurance, safety policies, and universal precautions. Requires at least one year of phlebotomy experience or an accredited school licensure, and a high school diploma or equivalent; current state licensure if applicable. The role emphasizes accurate pre-authorization/consent where needed, accessioning and logging, and coordination of specimen flow while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with OSHA standards.
