Job Summary
Phlebotomist needed in Naperville, IL to draw blood from patients, label vials, collect specimens, and prepare samples for lab submission. Responsibilities include venipuncture and fingerstick collection, labeling, transporting specimens, centrifuging per regulations, maintaining aseptic technique, following infection control standards, verifying test requisitions, tracking and recording collections, performing bedside glucose tests, communicating results to nursing staff and pathologists, and contributing to quality-control documentation. Requires high school diploma or GED and prior phlebotomy/healthcare experience with strong customer service and adherence to healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- Prior Medical/Health Care/Phlebotomist experience or Medical Assistant Certification
- Calming anxious clients and general customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to adhere to government regulations related to healthcare
- Following infection control standards
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
