Job Summary
Register blood donors, administer medical screening assessments, and perform phlebotomy while providing care before and after donations. Maneuver equipment and supplies onto the mobile donor coach, manage collection events, and operate a company vehicle for travel to blood drives. Work a variable schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, while lifting up to 35 lbs and standing or bending for long periods. Maintain confidentiality of donor information and demonstrate a positive, professional approach to donors and staff. Complete in-house training and CPR certification within the first 90 to 6 months of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactorily complete in-house Donor Services Training Program and proficiency checks within first 90 days of employment
- Must satisfactorily complete a Company-approved adult CPR/First Aid Course within the first 6 months of employment or possess current CPR certification
- Must maintain the certification
- Knowledgeable in all collection methods
- Must be able to manage collection events
- Must be dependable
- Must be punctual
- Must have effective communication skills
- Must demonstrate a positive approach toward donors and other staff members
- Must act in a highly professional manner at all times
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of donor information at all times
- Must be able to lift equipment, such as portable donor beds, boxes of donor blood, and supplies up to 35 lbs., unassisted
- Must be able to perform duties requiring standing or bending for long periods of time without relief
- Must be able to work a variable schedule, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work with needles, scissors, blood bags, human blood and collection equipment
- Must be able to deal with stressful situations
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be insurable by our commercial auto insurance carrier
