Collect blood specimens using accurate venipuncture techniques while verifying patient identification and specimen types. Review physician orders, obtain clinical and demographic information, and respond to stat draw requests as needed. Maintain equipment and inventory, ensuring all supplies are not expired, and keep the laboratory area clean and clutter-free. Communicate medical concerns to nursing staff and report safety hazards or near misses promptly. Ensure proper documentation, maintain confidentiality, and participate in quality projects and required trainings.
