Job Summary
Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure, utilizing automated instruments once trained. Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth computer system and determine eligibility based on interview and physical process results. Accurately identify donors throughout the donation process, assist in recruitment and rescheduling, and convert donors to automated technology when appropriate. Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. This full-time role in Fleming Island, FL, requires working varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a starting salary of $15.50 - $17.05 per hour. LifeSouth serves over 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, ensuring a safe blood supply for patients in need.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Criminal background check
- Pre-employment physical
- Drug screen
