Job Summary
Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), utilizing automated instruments once trained. Register donors in the IBBIS computer system, determine eligibility based on interview and physical process results, and accurately identify donors throughout the donation workflow. Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment, and rescheduling of donors, while converting eligible candidates to automated apheresis technology when appropriate. Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Full-time position with a starting salary of $19.50 - $21.45 per hour, requiring a valid driver's license and ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. LifeSouth serves over 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, operating 45 donor centers and 55 bloodmobiles to meet community blood supply needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Criminal background check
- Pre-employment physical
- Drug screen
