Job Summary
Collect blood and non-blood specimens from patients of all ages by interpreting physician orders and using appropriate collection equipment. Handle and process lab specimens while ensuring proper transfer and storage, and perform outpatient EKGs as needed. Operate centrifuges and communicate timely with the outpatient lab central scheduler, regional coordinators, and managers. Travel between sites for unscheduled absences or emergencies, and continuously review and comply with Network and departmental policies. Work a part-time day shift from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with every third Saturday required.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy school with a minimum of 100 successful hours
- Valid driver's license
- At least 1 year of Phlebotomy experience
- Basic computer skills
- Effective independent judgement in the performance of the assigned duties
- Strong customer service skills
- Schedule: 6:00AM - 10:00AM
- Every third Saturday required
