Job Summary
Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for diverse age groups, collect specimens for drug screens and various tests, enter patient data accurately, process billing when required, and maintain specimen/patient logs. Responsibilities include providing superior customer service, handling administrative/clerical duties, traveling to additional sites as needed, and complying with training and quality standards. The role is based in San Luis Obispo, CA, with a schedule of Monday–Friday 9:00 am–2:00 pm and possible overtime or weekends. Opportunities for growth within LabCorp and a quarterly incentive program are available; benefits apply for eligible schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License or license in process per CA Department of Health at time of hire
- 1+ months of phlebotomy experience (preferred)
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Able to pass color blindness test
- Comfortable traveling to additional sites when needed
- Able to attend 2-week training in California
