Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Prepare specimens for testing and analysis while maintaining accurate patient and specimen logs. Enter patient data timely and process billing information and payments when required. Provide superior customer service to all patients and handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Travel to additional sites when needed and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
- OB/GYN / IVF clinical experience
- 6 months or more assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
- Current or prior LabCorp experience
