Phlebotomist/Lab Technician, Barre Health Center, Per Diem

Perform venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy procedures on all ages of patients using appropriate specimen collection equipment and techniques. Review physician requisitions to ensure tests meet Medical Necessity guidelines, prepare Advance Beneficiary Notices, and prioritize lab orders. Process specimens including centrifugation, pour-off, aliquoting, labeling, and packaging, while searching the Patient Station in EPIC for demographic information. Set up and operate test instruments for routine blood and coagulation tests, record results, and report unusual problems to management. Requires High School graduation with phlebotomy training or documented experience, Basic Life Support certification within three months, and familiarity with data entry and medical terminology.
