Job Summary
Draw and collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, ensuring accurate identification and proper specimen labeling. Maintain clean, stocked phlebotomy stations and equipment while following infection control and safety procedures. Troubleshoot sample requisitions and computer issues, escalating as needed, and prepare specimens for in-lab testing or off-site shipment. Trainees learn proper venipuncture techniques under supervision, while experienced staff handle complex draws and mentor new team members. Full-time day, early-morning, or rotating weekend shifts are available at our Lebanon, NH campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification
- Completion of Phlebotomy Trainee program or a minimum of 6 months' experience
- (BLS) Basic Life Support
- ASCP eligibility
- Minimum of 12 months' experience
- (BLS) Basic Life Saving (BLS)
- Basic Life Saving (BLS)
- Full-time hours
- Full-time, day-shift position working Monday-Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm with rotating Saturdays
- Full-time, early-morning shift position working Monday-Friday, 3:00 am to 1:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Phlebotomy experience
- Enrollment or preparation for ASCP certification
- Ability to demonstrate willingness to learn and follow directions
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Proficient in developing safe and proper phlebotomy techniques
- Completion of Phlebotomy Trainee program or a minimum of 6 months' experience preferred
- Skilled in performing accurate and efficient venipuncture and capillary collection
- Ability to apply knowledge of specimen requirements for various laboratory tests
- Proficient in communicating effectively with patients and interdisciplinary staff
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and safety in all tasks
- Proficient in advanced venipuncture and capillary collections
- Ability to provide mentorship and support to team members
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff under varied circumstances
