Job Summary
Process specimens, perform phlebotomy, and assist in running tests while maintaining patient test result records. Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, and reporting, including documenting calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions. Review daily charges for correct coding and manage inventory records for reagents. Acquire tissue slides, blocks, and biopsies per clinical trial protocols, then label, separate, aliquot, and transport samples via courier. Monitor compliance with clinical trial protocols and ensure proficiency testing samples are handled identically to patient samples. Maintain a positive atmosphere for patients, families, and co-workers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) in the State of California
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a professional lab
- Two years experience as a CLA
- Proficient skills in phlebotomy
- Extensive knowledge in running lab instruments
- Strong computer skills
- Experience using EMR
