Job Summary
Collect and process patient specimens by performing venous and capillary collections on patients of all ages using proper identification techniques. Support outpatient collection locations as needed and handle order entry, specimen processing, EKGs, culture collections, and Chain-of-Custody Drug Collections. Maintain proper competency and education as required for the position while performing customer service, clerical tasks, and other duties assigned. This role involves working nights at Fairfield Medical Center's Inpatient Lab with a preference for candidates holding National Phlebotomy Certification or completing an eligible training program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a certification eligible phlebotomy program or employer sponsored training program National Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- National phlebotomy certification preferred
- Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred
