Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining a high level of customer service, and ensuring donor safety during plasma collection. Your duties will involve setting up equipment for venipuncture, executing blood draws, operating automated plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor safety, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Mentoring junior phlebotomists and performing routine equipment maintenance are also part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required
- Must have completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently
Desired Qualifications
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required
- Strong customer service skills required
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required
- Ability to perform venipunctures required
- Effective communication skills required
- Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
