Job Summary
Obtain quality blood samples using venous, capillary, arterial, and line collection methods for all age groups. Provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes. Work independently and as a team by fostering an inclusive environment, interacting with patients, nurses, providers, and healthcare professionals to ensure high customer satisfaction. Manage daily routines using computer systems, ensuring accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation. Handle phone inquiries and assist with training students and new employees. Full-time variable shifts Monday through Friday, 6:45am to 8:00pm, with rotating closing shifts and one holiday per year. Travel to other MCHS locations as needed. Phlebotomy experience and medical field experience preferred; valid phlebotomy certification required for Phlebotomist II.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to push a cart and walk distances
- Moderate to advanced computer skills
- Possess good written and oral communication skills

- Excellent customer service skills
- valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification
- Willingness to travel to other MCHS locations for assignments as needed
- Must complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
