Job Summary
Join Octapharma Plasma as a Phlebotomist I, where you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain high service levels for donors, and perform venipunctures and plasma collection safely. Key responsibilities include setting up equipment, monitoring donor conditions, and handling biohazardous waste. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, customer service skills, basic computer abilities, and the capacity to work flexible hours, including weekends. You should also have at least three months of experience in a healthcare setting and be able to effectively document procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required.
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required.
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required.
- Ability to perform venipunctures required.
- Effective communication skills required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
