Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist I at Octapharma Plasma, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining high levels of customer service and donor experience. Responsibilities include setup and preparation for procedures, execution of venipunctures, operation of automated plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor comfort and safety, and handling biohazardous waste. You must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and demonstrate strong customer service skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Completion of relevant training documentation is necessary prior to independent duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required
- Strong customer service skills required
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required
- Ability to perform venipunctures required
- Effective communication skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
