Job Summary
Join Octapharma Plasma as a Phlebotomist I, where you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain high levels of customer service, and execute venipunctures and plasma collection while adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for procedures, monitoring donor conditions, maintaining cleanliness, troubleshooting machine alarms, and handling biohazardous waste. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant training documentation, and strong communication skills. Prior experience in a medical environment is preferred, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required.
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
- Must have completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required.
- Able to make accurate and complete documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required.
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required.
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required.
- Ability to perform venipunctures required.
- Effective communication skills required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
