Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist I, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining high customer service standards and a clean, professional environment. Key responsibilities include executing venipunctures, operating plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor conditions for comfort and safety, and maintaining equipment through calibration and maintenance. You will be required to document and report on all procedures accurately, manage biohazardous waste, and maintain adequate inventory. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Able to make accurate and complete documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations and procedures required.
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions required.
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability required.
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts required.
- Ability to perform venipunctures required.
- Effective communication skills required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
