Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist I, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining high standards of customer service and donor experience. Responsibilities include preparing for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures, operating automated plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor conditions, disposing of biohazardous waste, and performing equipment maintenance. Required skills include strong customer service, effective communication, computer proficiency, and the ability to follow protocols. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with specific state licensing or certification and venipuncture skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required.
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required.
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
- Ability to perform venipunctures required.
- Effective communication skills required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
