Job Summary
Join Octapharma Plasma as a Phlebotomist I, where you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while providing excellent customer service and a positive donor experience. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for venipuncture, executing plasma collection, monitoring donor conditions, maintaining cleanliness, and performing maintenance on automated machines. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility with scheduling. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with customer service skills and the ability to follow protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required
- Strong customer service skills required
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required
- Able to make accurate and complete documentation
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions required
- Ability to perform venipunctures required
- Effective communication skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Requirements
- Must have completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required
