Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist I, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service and a positive donor experience. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for procedures, performing venipunctures, operating automated plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor conditions, and maintaining cleanliness and inventory in the work area. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, as well as any required state-specific certifications. Strong customer service skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required.
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required.
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
- Ability to perform venipunctures required.
- Effective communication skills required.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Completion of documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis required.
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctual, apply full effort throughout shift, flexibility with assigned schedule) required.
