Job Summary
Join Octapharma Plasma as a Phlebotomist I, responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while delivering high levels of customer service. Essential duties include preparing equipment for venipuncture, executing plasma collection, operating plasmapheresis machines, monitoring donor conditions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean work environment. The role requires strong customer service abilities, basic computer skills, effective communication, and the ability to follow protocols in a fast-paced setting. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with state-specific certifications. Previous experience in a medical or healthcare environment is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Any specific certification or licensing based on State requirements
- Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to make accurate and complete documentation
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability in attendance and performance
- Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
- Ability to perform venipunctures
- Effective communication skills
