Job Summary
Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to collect blood specimens while ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen labeling. Document specimen details in the laboratory computer system and conduct chain-of-custody urine drug screens following NIDA guidelines. Maintain patient confidentiality, troubleshoot lab equipment, and participate in training new staff. This full-time day shift role requires a high school diploma, two years of hospital experience, and phlebotomy certification. Located in Las Vegas, NM, the position supports accurate diagnostic testing and quality patient care within a valued healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow procedures independently and work effectively under pressure
- Must be able to see with or without corrective eyewear and hear clearly
- Ability to work with exposure to infectious materials and handle emergency situations
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel & reach as required for the role & lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
- Phlebotomy Certification
