Job Summary
Conduct blood donations and blood product collections from volunteer donors while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulatory standards. Set up supplies and equipment, complete daily quality control checks, and utilize computer systems to process donors through screening and phlebotomy. Manage donor experiences and interact with diverse individuals, requiring proficiency in English and basic computer skills. This role reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager and involves a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, and weekend coverage. Training occurs onsite in Bethlehem, PA.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate (verbal, written, and listening) fluently in English
- Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary
- Hours vary daily based on schedule and can be either 7am - 3pm and 12pm - 8pm at our Lehigh Valley Locations: Bethlehem, Cedar Crest, Hamilton and Easton
- Staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, and on-call to cover weekends and holidays
- A schedule is provided two weeks in advance
- The first month of training will take place onsite at our blood center at 1465 Valley Center Parkway Bethlehem, PA
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred
- 6 months' experience in a Blood Center or other Healthcare environment is strongly preferred
- 1 years' experience in customer service is strongly preferred
