Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Collect specimens for testing and analysis, perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information, and process billing and payments. Maintain patient and specimen logs while providing superior customer service and handling administrative duties. Travel to additional sites in Waukegan, Gurnee, Round Lake Beach, Zion, North Chicago, and Deerfield as needed. Work Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, scheduled 40 hours weekly. Requires Phlebotomy certification or 3+ months experience, valid driver's license, and ability to pass a color blindness test.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
- 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- At least 21 years' old
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
