Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Collect specimens for testing and analysis while maintaining accurate patient and specimen logs. Process billing information, collect payments, and enter patient data timely. Provide superior customer service to patients and perform administrative duties as needed. Travel to additional sites within Macomb County to support float coverage. Maintain a clean driving record and pass a color blindness test. Work Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, adhering to a schedule that may require overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 1 year of more of phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- Be at least 21 years' old
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment
