Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Process billing information, collect payments, and enter patient data accurately while maintaining logs. Prepare specimens for testing, provide superior customer service, and handle administrative duties as needed. Travel to additional sites when required. Cover varying hours Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm, with additional days including some Saturdays. Overtime is available. This float role covers areas around Davenport, Bettendorf, Dewitt, Iowa City, Moline, and Silvis. Candidates must hold a California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT) and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more of experience as phlebotomist
- Current or Prior experience at LabCorp
- In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
- Passionate about helping people and have a drive for service
