Job Summary
Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Collect and process specimens for testing and analysis while maintaining accurate patient and specimen logs. Enter patient information and process billing information and collect payments as necessary. Provide superior customer service to all patients and handle administrative and clerical duties. Travel to additional sites when needed. Schedule includes Monday through Friday, 7:00am–7:00pm, with rotating Saturdays. This float role covers Macomb County in the Detroit area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 1 year of more of phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- Be at least 21 years' old
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment
