Job Summary
Screen prospective donors through medical history, mini physicals, and testing results, then perform venipuncture on eligible donors while selecting proper collection materials. Administer post-phlebotomy care, provide supportive care for donor reactions, and document all procedures according to departmental SOPs and FDA regulations. Maintain donor areas with required equipment, perform quality control on collection devices, and report defective items per standards. When acting as team leader, review paperwork for accuracy, report unresolved disciplinary issues, and collaborate with the recruitment team to ensure drive success. Greets and thanks each donor in a friendly, professional manner to maintain a comfortable environment. This role requires working varied hours including weekends and adapting to schedule changes with less than 24 hours' notice.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to follow SOP in a heavily FDA regulated environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
- Must be able to work varied hours including working some weekends
- Must be able to adapt to a work schedule that may change with less than 24 hours' notice
- Lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 50 pounds
- Standing or walking for an extended period
- Bending and twisting
