Job Summary
Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection (finger and heel sticks) with accurate patient identification, labeling at bedside, and safe transport of specimens to the laboratory. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment and workspace per safety standards, communicating procedures to patients to ensure comfort, documenting information in the lab system, and collaborating with the healthcare team to resolve collection issues while adhering to accreditation and regulatory requirements. Requires 0-2 years phlebotomy experience and strong attention to detail, safety, and patient interaction, with an evening, full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years phlebotomy experience required
- Knowledge of safety guidelines, sanitation, and infection control protocols
- Ability to perform blood collection techniques across age groups (neonates to geriatrics)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
