Collect venous, capillary, and arterial blood specimens from adults, children, and infants using aseptic technique. Transport specimens to the lab with proper labeling via the blood bank ID system and EMR barcode scanning. Manage specimen priority draws including stat and timed collections, while verifying patient identity using two identifiers. Maintain a sanitary work area, care for equipment, and handle biohazard waste in compliance with OSHA standards. Check uncollected work lists regularly and follow up on incomplete draws. This entry-level position includes development training and may involve orientation of new staff. Local travel is required, and the role supports Parkwest Medical Center's emergency services and cardiac expertise.
