Job Summary
Phlebotomist collects and processes patient specimens, performing venous and capillary collections with proper patient identification. Responsibilities include order entry and specimen processing, performing EKGs, culture collections, BATs and Chain-of-Custody Drug Collections as needed, and supporting outpatient collection locations. Handles specimen collection for nursing homes and health screenings, maintains competency and education, and performs customer service and clerical duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a certification eligible phlebotomy program or employer sponsored training program
- National phlebotomy certification preferred
- Previous experience in phlebotomy preferred
