Job Summary
Phlebotomist at LRMC Blood Donor Center in Landstuhl, Germany responsible for blood collection, donor care, processing, and donor data management in a dynamic clinical setting. Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, assess donor eligibility, conduct donor interviews, document and enter data into BECS, adhere to infection control standards, respond to donor reactions, assist with component processing and shipping of blood products, and support apheresis and mobile blood drive operations across Europe. Maintain compliance with AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and TJC regulations; set up and tear down mobile collection sites; travel monthly for blood drives. Requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and travel availability. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0730–1630; on-site and at regional drives; education and certifications as listed; 1 year clinical experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; graduation from a certified Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technician program.
- Active Phlebotomist or Medical Laboratory Technician certification (AMT, ASCP, or equivalent).
- BLS Certification: Must be obtained prior to start date and maintained throughout employment.
- Minimum 1 year within the last 3 years working in a medical environment with phlebotomy, patient reception, and clerical duties; experience in Blood Donor Center activities preferred.
