PHLEBOTOMIST

Receive patients, perform phlebotomy including therapeutic venipuncture and finger sticks, and label, process, and distribute specimens. Interpret physician orders to collect appropriate samples, prepare request slips, and schedule outpatients when necessary. Relay test requests to technologists, distribute results to nursing stations and providers, and fax reports as applicable. Enter laboratory orders into US, maintain daily accession logs, order supplies, and ensure collection trays and glassware remain stocked. Practice confidentiality, communicate pertinent information to supervisors and co-workers, and assist in training new employees. Requires California CPT licensure, BLS certification, and strong organizational skills.
