Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Laboratory or Designee, perform clinical, office, and clerical procedures within and in support of the Laboratory. Perform data entry of all specimens and/or register patient information in the LIS database and/or department logs. Perform data entry of test associated charges, scheduled tests and test results to appropriate laboratory database as needed. This role requires high school completion, ASCP or NCA certification within one year, and experience with venipuncture and capillary procedures. Knowledge of EKG is preferred. Candidates must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19. The position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus, 32 flexible hours, and a day shift rotation at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training
- Certification from ASCP or NCA
- Successful completion of one of the following: (1) a college-based or accredited phlebotomy program within the past year, or (2) a Medical Laboratory Assistant program within the past year, or (3) equivalent of at least one (1) year of full time related work experience
- Venipuncture and capillary procedure experience
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
