Job Summary
Phlebotomist responsible for identifying patients by requesting full name and date of birth, obtaining blood specimens by venipuncture, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and following aseptic technique and department procedures. Ensures specimen integrity, tracks collected specimens, maintains quality results, adheres to safety standards, and performs additional tasks as assigned by the manager. Maintains ongoing professional knowledge through education and professional organizations, and complies with federal, state, local requirements and JCaho standards while delivering professional patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- CPT Certification preferred but not required
- 1 year of experience in phlebotomy preferred but not required
- Prior experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred
